Fleet carport questions, answered

Spans, clearances, roof types, codes, timelines and how to get a price.

What is a fleet carport?

A fleet carport is a commercial shade structure built over parking rows, staging lanes or loading areas to protect company vehicles from sun, hail, heavy rain and debris. Cover Your Fleet structures are made of architectural aluminum and can be built with a fixed roof or with motorized louvers that open and close.

Why choose aluminum over steel for a commercial carport?

Aluminum does not rust, which matters in coastal, humid and de-icing-salt environments. It is lighter, so foundations and installation are often simpler, and it holds a painted finish for many years with little maintenance.

What is the difference between a fixed roof and a louvered roof?

A fixed aluminum roof gives permanent, low-maintenance coverage. A motorized louvered roof has blades that rotate open for light and airflow and close for rain and sun, controlled by remote or app. Fixed roofs can be upgraded to motorized louvers later.

How large can a single structure be?

Spans and sizes are engineered per project. Stattus has built single structures as large as 848 feet by 68 feet, so large lots and long rows of stalls are well within our experience.

How much clearance do you build for trucks and vans?

Clearance is set for each project based on your tallest vehicle plus margin. Tell us your fleet mix — sedans, cargo vans, step vans, box trucks or buses — and we will design around it.

Is the structure designed for local wind and building codes?

Each project is designed for the requirements of its site and the local building department. Share your location early so the design accounts for it.

Do you handle permits?

Permitting requirements vary by jurisdiction. Ask us about permitting support for your location when you request a quote.

Can we keep using the lot during installation?

Yes. We phase installation so parts of the lot stay in service while others are being built.

Can a carport include lighting, screens, EV charging or solar?

Yes. Integrated lighting, motorized side screens, gutters and drainage are available, and EV charger and solar-ready layouts can be planned at the design stage.

Where do you work?

Yes. Stattus is based in Florida and takes on projects nationwide and internationally.

Can you work with our architect, engineer or general contractor?

Yes, and earlier is better. When we are involved at the design stage we can help size bays, place columns around drive aisles and get the structure written into the specification.

How do I get a price?

Use the quote form, call 833.STATTUS (833-782-8887) or email pkrutakov@stattus.tech. Tell us the location, number and type of vehicles, and any timeline. We will follow up with layout options, a rendering and budget pricing.
